The two-door LRX is smaller than your typical Land Rover truck, which company managers say makes it more agile while still retaining Land Rover's legendary off-road capabilities.

In addition, its lower weight and better aerodynamics help improve fuel economy and reduce carbon emissions.

Inside, the LRX is a gadget-lover's delight, with its docking station for iPod or iPhone, to a touch-screen navigation system, to its LCD instrument panel that arranges pertinent information in a 3-D display.

Even the seats are unconventional. They have an open framework that is designed to reinforce the impression of a light and airy interior.
