Emmy award winning journalist, Heather Holmes, is co-anchor of KTVU Channel 2 Weekend News. She joined KTVU in 2006 after working several years in New York. Holmes can also be seen during the week reporting for The Ten O'Clock News.

Before joining KTVU, Holmes was a reporter and fill-in anchor at WPIX in New York City. While at the station, she covered numerous breaking news events as a reporter for the WB11 News at Ten.

Holmes' work as an anchor and reporter from 2002-2005 with News 12 Long Island gained her multiple accolades, including two regional Emmy awards. As the environmental reporter at the New York area station, she uncovered illegal dumping in county owned parks and exposed problems within the county’s land acquisition program. Holmes was also tapped to cover breaking news events including anchoring coverage of the Great Blackout of 2003, traveling to Pennsylvania for the Mepham High School Hazing Scandal and reporting from Boston on the Catholic Priest Sex Abuse Scandal.

From 2000-2002, Holmes worked as a field producer and writer for WCBS in New York. While at the CBS station, she covered the September 11 terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center.

Holmes began her career as a morning anchor and reporter at KLBK in Lubbock, Texas. She graduated from the University of Texas with a bachelor's degree in journalism. Holmes lives in the Bay Area with her husband and their young daughter.
