Jana Katsuyama
Jana Katsuyama joined the KTVU Channel 2 News team as a full-time staff reporter in January 2008. She has worked at KTVU since April 2007 as a freelance reporter.Jana began her reporting career at KBJR in Duluth, Minnesota. From there, she moved to Dayton, Ohio where she worked as an Anchor/Reporter at WDTN-TV.Katsuyama says working as a journalist really is her dream job. "I enjoy learning about issues, investigating problems, and meeting people every day from so many backgrounds."Jana has garnered several awards including Ohio Associated Press awards for Best Broadcast Writing and Best Enterprise Reporting, a 2007 award from the Society of Professional Journalists, as well as several Emmy Award nominations. She is also a member of the Asian American Journalists Association.Katsuyama was raised in Ohio and graduated from Oberlin College with Honors in English Literature and a second major in East Asian Studies.Jana currently lives in the Bay Area with her husband. She says most of her family lives here in the Bay Area, so it feels like home to be here.
