NCAA Game Summary - Montana State At Oregon State

Corvallis, OR -- (Sports Network) - Will Bynum scored 23 points to lead the Montana State Bobcats to an 82-79 overtime victory over the Oregon State Beavers in a non-conference showdown. Bobby Howard pitched in 20 points for Montana State (2-2). Divaldo Mbunga and Danny Piepoli scored 11 points apiece for the Bobcats, and Marquis Navarre rounded out the double-digit scorers with 10 points. Ricky Claitt scored 21 points in the heart-breaking loss for Oregon State (0-4). Roeland Schaftenaar netted 18 points off the bench for the Beavers, who got 12 points from both Josh Tarver and Omari Johnson. Oregon State led by as many as 13 points in the first half and owned a 38-32 edge at intermission. The Beavers did stretch their advantage to as many as 15 points in the second half, but Montana State dominated play down the stretch. Howard nailed a crucial three-pointer with 26 remaining in regulation to force overtime, and he hit another shot from behind the arc in the extra session to help lift the Bobcats to victory. Montana State scored 26 points off 21 Oregon State turnovers, overshadowing the fact that the Beavers connected on 58.7 percent of its field goal attempts in the clash.
