Las Vegas, NV -- (Sports Network) - Deonta Vaughn scored 16 points and dished out six assists to lead the Cincinnati Bearcats to a thrilling, 67-65 victory over the UNLV Runnin' Rebels in the final round of the Global Sports Classic at the Thomas & Mack Center. Yancy Gates also posted 16 points for Cincy (5-1), while Dion Dixon contributed 13 points in the win. Tre'von Willis and Joe Darger netted 18 points apiece for UNLV (5-2), while Darris Santee chipped in nine points in the losing effort. UNLV held the Bearcats to just 36.7 percent shooting from the field in the first half and went into the break with a 31-27 lead. However, the Bearcats responded in the second stanza, netting 7-of-18 three- point attempts en route to the two-point win. The Bearcat bench scored 39 points in the contest, while UNLV's reserves posted just seven points.
