NCAA Game Summary - New Mexico State At Kansas

Lawrence, KS -- (Sports Network) - Tyshawn Taylor posted a game-high 23 points to lead the Kansas Jayhawks to a 100-79 victory over the New Mexico State Aggies in a non-conference showdown at Allen Fieldhouse. Sherron Collins scored 15 points and dished out 11 assists in the win for Kansas (6-1), while Cole Aldrich tallied 13 points to go with 13 rebounds. Tyrel Reed and Quintrell Thomas chipped in 12 and 10 points, respectively, off the bench for the Jayhawks, with the latter collecting seven boards. Jahmar Young netted 17 points to lead New Mexico State (2-3) in the loss, while Jonathan Gibson contributed 16 points off the bench. Troy Gillenwater added 15 points for the Aggies, while Wendell McKines chipped in 13 points. The Aggies shot a solid 50.0 percent from the floor during the first period of play, but still went into the break trailing the Jayhawks 42-31. The Jayhawks shot at a scorching 64.9 percent clip from the field during the second stanza en route to the 21-point victory. The Aggies were out-rebounded by the Jayhawks to the tune of 46-20, with Kansas coming up with 20 offensive rebounds alone.
