Las Vegas, NV -- (Sports Network) - Wink Adams scored 18 points, leading four players in double figures, as the UNLV Rebels defeated the Northern Arizona Lumberjacks, 87-71, in non-conference action at the Thomas & Mack Center. Kendall Wallace added 14 points off the bench for the Rebels (3-0), while Rene Rougeau and Joe Darger each tallied 11 points in the triumph as well. The Lumberjacks (1-2) were paced by Josh Wilson and Matt Johnson who both scored 18 points in the losing effort. UNLV converted 7-of-10 from three-point range and 64.3 percent from the field overall in the first half, en route to a commanding 54-31 lead at the break. In the second half the Rebels dipped to 52.2 percent from the floor, but still managed to cruise to the 16-point victory. The home team made up for 18 turnovers and just 16-of-26 shooting at the free- throw line by hitting 11-of-19 from three-point range and limiting the visitors to 6-of-21 out on the perimeter.
