NCAA Game Summary - Old Dominion At Marshall

Huntington, WV -- (Sports Network) - Tirrell Baines scored a team-best 15 points and pulled down nine rebounds to help lead the Marshall Thundering Herd to a 68-64 win over the Old Dominion Monarchs in non-conference action at the Cam Henderson Center. Also scoring in double figures for Marshall (2-3) were Marcus Goode and Shaquille Johnson with 11 and 10 points, respectively, as the squad snapped a three-game slide. As for the Monarchs (1-3), losers of three in a row, they were paced by Ben Finney who tallied 16 points on 4-of-5 shooting from three-point range, followed by Darius James with 11 points and Gerald Lee who dropped in 10. Marshall shot a mere 2-of-12 beyond the arc and just 3-of-7 at the free-throw line in the first half, yet still managed to post a 31-25 advantage at the break. In the second half ODU stormed back with a sizzling 68 percent from the floor and 4-of-6 behind the three-point line, but it was too late as the Herd picked up the four-point win. The Monarchs were forced into 17 turnovers, came up with just four offensive rebounds and were outscored at the charity stripe, 8-3.
