Fresno, CA -- (Sports Network) - Dan Kelly's 33-yard field goal in the first overtime was the game-winner, as Hawaii toppled 22nd-ranked Fresno State, 32-29, at Bulldog Stadium.

The Bulldogs got the ball to start the extra session but Kevin Goessling missed a 40-yard attempt. After a running into the kicker penalty, Goessling went on to pull the subsequent 35-yard try wide right.

The Warriors then opted for three quick rushes, two by quarterback Inoke Funaki. Kelly calmly split the uprights on fourth down to give Hawaii the victory.

Funaki threw for 170 yards and two touchdowns on 17-of-25 passing, adding 79 rushing yards for the Warriors (2-3, 1-1 WAC), who posted the first road win in school history against a ranked opponent.

Ryan Mouton added a 90-yard kick return for a score.

Tom Brandstater completed 12-of-24 passes for 204 yards but was picked off three times for the Bulldogs (3-2, 0-1), whose two-game win streak was halted in heartbreaking fashion. Fresno State committed six turnovers in the contest, the most since a 2000 tilt against Ohio State.

Lonyae Miller ran for 161 yards and two scores. Anthony Harding posted 157 yards rushing and scored the tying touchdown in the fourth quarter.

"This is as tough a loss as I've had since I've been here," said Fresno State coach Pat Hill. "I've never been around a game with that many turnovers. Give Hawaii credit. They capitalized when they had. It was uncharacteristic of us to turn it over that much. We had two backs with over 150 yards and over 500 yards of total offense. I can't explain the turnovers. That's football."

After trailing virtually the entire game, Fresno State forged a 29-29 with 8:34 to play in regulation when Harding plunged in from the one.

Kelly's 49-yard attempt on the ensuing drive was blocked and FSU got the ball back at its own 31 with 5 1/2 to play. On a 3rd-and-5 from the Hawaii 38, Brandstater threw to the end zone, but a pass interference penalty placed the ball at the Warriors' 23. Three Harding rushes accomplished little, then Goessling had his 36-yard attempt blocked.

The visitors took over on their own 34 after a 15-yard return by Malcolm Lane, but could not move downfield before time ran out.

Goessling's 24-yard field goal put Fresno State on the board with 8:32 to play in the opening quarter. Mouton fielded the kickoff at his own 10-yard- line and rumbled all the way to the end zone. The extra point was missed and Hawaii led 6-3.

Kelly's 36-yard make put the Warriors up by six late in the quarter, and his 30-yarder with just over two minutes played in the second boosted the visitors to a 12-3 edge.

Funaki found Lane for a 28-yard TD strike on the following series and Hawaii went up 19-3.

Miller's seven-yard run for a score brought the Bulldogs back within 10 with 6:20 to play in the half, but the two-point conversion failed.

Funaki connected with Michael Washington for a three-yard touchdown pass on the first possession of the second half to give Hawaii a 26-9 lead. Miller then rolled 80 yards down the right sideline to once again get the Bulldogs within 10.

Goessling hit a 32-yard field goal with 8:18 left in the quarter for a 26-19 contest, and Kelly responded by finishing Hawaii's next drive with a 41- yarder.

Goessling was good from 33 yards out late in the period and the Bulldogs headed to the fourth quarter down by seven.

The all-time series is knotted at 20-20-1...Fresno State lost despite a 522-342 advantage in total offense...The Bulldogs also enjoyed a 318-172 edge on the ground.
