Reno Police confirm that 18-year-old Reno resident Kassandra Portillo has been detained and admitted to the Sunday morning armed robbery of the Jacksons convenience store on Stead Blvd.
Detectives with the Regional Crime Suppression Unit located Portillo and her silver 4 door car in Stead thanks to several tips from Washoe County Juvenile Probation and concerned citizens, and she was detained without incident, according to authorities.
RENO, Nev. -- Reno Police report that officers responded to the Jacksons convenience store on Stead Blvd. just after 2:30 a.m. on Sunday, Feb. 7 after a report of an armed robbery.
The clerk told officers that the suspect was a white or Hispanic female around 18-20-years-old. She had a heavier build, and was last seen wearing a black hat with an S on it, a blue hooded sweatshirt, black pants, and black shoes.
According to police, the clerk said the woman had pulled her sweatshirt up and showed the clerk a gun in the front of her waist band. The gun appeared to be a black semi-automatic handgun. The suspect then left the area in a silver 4 door sedan with black rims.
