"I feel responsible for it, I've said that," Gov. Snyder told WEYI's Drew Moore.
He said some progress has been made on fixing the lead problem in the drinking water - but does that plan include removing lead pipes?
"There's an order to all of this," he said.
That order, Snyder said, is to first get the water safe, then figure out where all of the lead pipes are to eventually target the areas that need help the most.
But he said he's not against getting the pipes out of the ground.
"No, it's more a question of let's do it in an organized, thoughtful, and scientific fashion."
Moore: Ten petitions were dropped off at the board of canvassors today again calling for your recall. What are your thoughts on that, is that something you are going to consider? Stepping down?
Gov. Snyder: No, because I want to solve this problem.
The governor said he wasn't informed about the lead issue. Information regarding a Legionella outbreak didn't hit the governor's desk because one of his officials said the DEQ needed to get their facts street.
Moore: What changes are going to be made to make sure you get that information to your desk?
Snyder: It's just making sure that people know they need to bring these issues up, and I said that right in the state of the state, we can't let that happen.
"I'm putting my focus in on what we're doing here each and every day to improve the lives of people in flint," he said, "isn't that the most important thing?"
