LOS ANGELES -- Paris Hilton is going to be a free agent when she gets out of jail. A spokesman for the Endeavor talent agency said that it has dropped the reality show star as a client.Hilton has been represented by the Beverly Hills-based agency since 2005. The 26-year-old star of "The Simple Life" launched a pop-music career in August. She also has a namesake perfume and handbag collection.
Sharpton Slams Jail After Paris Debacle
The Rev. Al Sharpton said that he hopes the scrutiny surrounding the release and rejailing of Hilton will highlight inconsistencies in the legal system.Sharpton met Monday with the sheriff of Los Angeles County, Lee Baca, who released Hilton to house arrest after three days in jail. Sharpton told reporters it would have been unlikely that Hilton, if she had been black or poor, would have been released to house arrest. He said that Baca gave him a list of more than 500 people currently serving house arrest sentences to review.Hilton has been embroiled in a firestorm of controversy since she checked into jail last week after attending the MTV Movie Awards. After spending three days in jail for a probation violation, Hilton was released to home confinement because of an undisclosed medical condition. The next day an outraged judge ordered her back behind bars. This time, the hotel heiress is in the medical ward of the Twin Towers facility in downtown Los Angeles.Meanwhile, Hilton said in a phone interview with Barbara Walters over the weekend that spending time behind bars is maturing her.She said in the interview, posted on Walters' ABC Web site, that she feels she has a "new chance" and her previous public persona was just an act that she's going to get rid of."I used to act dumb. It was an act," Hilton said. "I am 26 years old, and that act is no longer cute."Hilton told Walters in the interview that she was depressed after her first few days behind bars. She told Walters she wasn't eating or sleeping, and that she felt as if she were "in a cage." She said, "It was a horrible experience."While it hasn't been made official, TMZ.com has reported that Hilton's medical condition is Attention Deficit Disorder and claustrophobia, and that she is taking Adderall to treat it.While Hilton serves the remainder of her sentence, her father is apparently making big plans for his daughter's release.Quoting a report in the New York Post, TMZ.com said that Rick Hilton is planning a get out of jail for Paris Hilton and has already contacted some Las Vegas clubs about the purported party. Sources said the bash, if it happens, could have a price tag of $50,000.
