The Reno Wind Symphony is an adult community band of 80 musicians who were organized in the spring of 2006. The membership includes 29 area music educators in Northern Nevada and California. Over 60% of the members in the group are alumni of the University of Nevada Band Department. The Reno Wind Symphony explores all areas of wind band literature. The purpose of this organization is to improve technical playing, overall musicianship, work ethic and motivation through challenging literature. $5 general; free for UNR students
