RENO, Nev. – The SPCA of Northern Nevada has announced the hiring of Jen Walker as Behavior Specialist/Humane Education.

Walker has spent over a decade working in animal shelters from the Bay Area to Portland and Vancouver in the Pacific Northwest. She specializes in humane animal education and canine behavior and training.

She has focused much of her additional time on outreach programs, volunteer training programs, on and off-site events, and has developed both canine and feline enrichment programs, as well as behavior helplines to support pets while they are in a shelter, and then afterwards in their forever homes.

Walker’s duties include performing behavior assessments on all dogs, spearheading the SPCA’s education program, and facilitating adoptions. She will lead other canine-related programs, as well as co-piloting the canine department with the new Canine Manager.SPCA of Northern Nevada hires Behavior Specialist/Humane Educator
