LaHair Called Up, Makes MLB Debut For Seattle

POSTED: 10:42 pm PDT July 18, 2008

(Sports Network) - The Seattle Mariners recalled first baseman Bryan LaHair from Triple-A Tacoma on Friday, and the prospect made his major league debut in the club's 8-2 win over Cleveland.

LaHair was called up after infielder Tug Hulett was optioned to Tacoma on Thursday. The 25-year-old LaHair was batting .263 with 12 home runs and 53 runs batted in, with a .357 on-base percentage at Triple-A this season.

LaHair was inserted as a pinch-hitter in the eighth inning of Friday's game, but grounded into a double play. He then played first base in the ninth.
