Baltimore, MD -- (Sports Network) - Baltimore Orioles closer George Sherrill was placed on the 15-day disabled list Tuesday with left shoulder inflammation.

Sherrill, Baltimore's only representative at this year's All Star Game, is 3-5 with a 4.47 earned-run average and 31 saves in 53 appearances this season.

The Orioles will make a corresponding roster move on Wednesday to fill Sherrill's roster spot.
