Royals' Gordon Leaves Game Against Tribe

POSTED: 12:49 pm PDT August 21, 2008

(Sports Network) - Kansas City Royals third baseman Alex Gordon left Thursday's 10-3 loss against the Cleveland Indians with tightness in his right quadriceps.

Gordon, who has been hampered by a lingering lower back injury lately, was replaced by Jason Smith at third base after leaving the contest in the fifth inning.

He is listed as day-to-day.

The 24-year-old Gordon is batting .254 with 14 home runs and 51 RBI in 122 games this season.
