(Sports Network) - The Florida Marlins are still searching for consecutive wins for the first time since the end of July, and will conclude a three-game series today against the San Francisco Giants at AT&T Park.

The Marlins haven't recorded back-to-back wins since beating the New York Mets on July 30 and the Colorado Rockies the following day. Their last series win occurred earlier this month when the Marlins won two of three games at Philadelphia from August 5-7.

Florida has lost two of three, five of seven and eight of its last 12 games, including Wednesday's 6-5 loss to the Giants in the second installment of this series. John Baker tied the game with a pinch-hit, three-run homer in the ninth inning for the Marlins, who got a two-run homer from Jeremy Hermida.

Marlins All-Star shortstop Hanley Ramirez left in the bottom of the fourth after sustaining a thumb injury stealing second in the third. He is listed as day-to-day. Florida starter Scott Olsen lasted six innings and was touched for four runs on nine hits in the no-decision, while Matt Lindstrom was saddled with the loss after he gave up Bengie Molina's sacrifice fly in the home ninth.

The Marlins are 1-1 on a nine-game road trip and 30-31 away from South Beach this season. They will hand the ball to Josh Johnson on Thursday, and he is 3-0 with a 3.37 earned run average in seven starts this season. Florida had won Johnson's first six starts since coming off of the disabled list, but lost his most recent outing on August 15 versus the Chicago Cubs.

Johnson did not receive a decision in the 6-5 loss despite allowing three runs and five hits in six innings of work. The right-hander, who is 2-0 in four away starts this season, has never beaten San Francisco in two career starts. He is 0-2 with a strong 1.93 ERA against the Giants.

The Giants have won three of four and four of their last six games following last night's late-inning heroics. Molina plated the winning run with a sac fly in the bottom of the ninth and Randy Winn went 3-for-5, including a solo homer, in a winning effort. Rich Aurilia, Fred Lewis and Emmanuel Burriss each drove in a run for San Francisco.

Starter Matt Cain did not factor in the decision after yielding only two runs on five hits over 7 2/3 frames. Brian Wilson got the win even though he gave up three runs on three hits in the top of the ninth. Wilson had converted each of his last 24 save opportunities prior to Wednesday.

San Francisco, which is 1-1 on a nine-game homestand and 25-37 as the host in 2008, will hand the ball to Matt Palmer in this afternoon's series finale. Palmer made his major league debut on Saturday in Atlanta and lasted just 2 1/3 innings, yielding six runs on seven hits and four walks in an 11-5 defeat.

The righty will try to rebound against another NL East club Thursday.

Florida won two of three tests from the Giants in Miami earlier this season. However, San Francisco is 11-5 over its last 16 encounters with the Marlins.
