East Rutherford, NJ -- (Sports Network) - The New Jersey Nets shipped point guard Marcus Williams to Golden State in exchange for future draft considerations, the team announced Tuesday.Williams, selected 22nd overall by New Jersey in 2006, averaged 5.9 points and 2.6 assists in just over 16 minutes per game for the Nets last season, his second in the league. The Connecticut product will join a Golden State club that is still reeling from the loss of star point guard Baron Davis, who opted out of the last year of his contract and signed with the Los Angeles Clippers. In exchange for Williams, the Nets will receive a lottery-protected first round pick from the Warriors. Golden State is protected for the first 14 picks in 2011, the first 11 in 2012 and the first 10 in 2013. If Golden State's draft selection falls inside these parameter, the Nets will receive second round picks in 2013 and 2015.
