Photographer Pleads Guilty In Connection To Charlotte Prostitution Ring

POSTED: 9:21 am PST January 30, 2008
UPDATED: 1:24 pm PST January 30, 2008

The third and final player in a high-end prostitution ring in Charlotte has pleaded guilty.

Photographer Glenn Fox pled guilty to conspiracy early Wednesday. He admitted to helping Donald and Sallie Saxon run their prostitution ring from fall of 2002 to last fall.

During that time he was paid thousands of dollars to take sexually explicit pictures of the prostitutes so they could be posted on the Saxons’ Web sites, including www.asouthernlook.com and www.hushhush.com. A judge asked the sites to be taken down during the Saxons’ first court appearance on Nov. 5, but at least one is still up and running.

Fox confessed to knowingly photographing hundreds of prostitutes who came from several states and several countries to work in Charlotte. Prosecutors said he was the first to screen out women who might not be attractive enough or right for the business.

With his wife by his side, Fox spoke briefly after his plea.

“I’m sorry all this occurred,” he said.

“It was just poor judgment on his part, and he just accepts responsibility for that,” said his attorney, Sam Winthrop.

Fox will be sentenced in three to six months. He has to pay a $100 fine and could spend up to two years in jail.

His sentence will be much lighter than Sallie and Donald Saxon's since he only pleaded guilty to conspiracy and not to money laundering. They had to forfeit their bank accounts and also agree to cooperate with the government in future cases.

Fox now says he's focused on his sentencing in a couple of months and rebuilding his life as a professional photographer.

"I'm trying to put my life back together and revive my business that's taken quite a hit," he said.

Some local residents may soon find they were a part of the prostitution case. As part of the investigation, the Federal Bureau of Investigation wiretapped Sallie Saxon’s phones, recording conversations she had with her clients. Federal wiretapping laws state the people involved have to be notified about the wiretap within 90 days after the close of the investigation, which means this week some johns and their families might be getting a letter in the mail.
