SAN FRANCISCO -- Three people were displaced after a two-alarm fire broke out in a Richmond District home Wednesday night, a San Francisco fire lieutenant said. The blaze was reported just after 6 p.m. at a single-family, two-story home on 41st Avenue near Cabrillo Street, fire Lt. Mindy Talmadge said. A second alarm was called around 6:15 p.m. because the fire got between the home and a neighboring building, according to Talmadge. The blaze was contained around 6:30 p.m. and declared under control at 7:23 p.m., a fire dispatcher said. Residents were safely evacuated from the house and there was no report of injuries. The American Red Cross responded to the fire to provide aid to the displaced. Talmadge said it appears the fire was caused by cooking grease in the kitchen of the home.
