Stolen Police Cruiser Recovered In Driveway

Posted: 5:33 pm PDT June 20, 2009

A police cruiser stolen from an East Bay junior college Friday night has been located in a San Pablo driveway.

Contra Costa County sheriff's officials say the car was stolen from the police lot at Contra Costa College in San Pablo.

An anonymous tip led authorities to the culprits after the car was seen pulling into a driveway, where a suspect was seen attempting to hide it under a tarp.

The sheriff's SWAT team moved in on the house and arrested a man and a woman, recovering an assault rifle that had been taken from the car.
