UPDATE: Father Identified In Richmond Double Shooting

CONTRA COSTA CO. -- A man shot to death in front of a house in North Richmond early Saturday morning has been identified by the Contra Costa County Sheriff's office as 59-year-old Lathel Douglas.The North Richmond man's son was also shot, according to Contra Costa County Sheriff's Office spokesman Jimmy Lee.At about 1:25 a.m., the sheriff's office received a report of a shooting in the 1700 block of First Street, according to Lee.Sheriff's deputies found Douglas and his 29-year-old son, who had both been shot in front of a home.Douglas was pronounced dead at the home. His son was transferred to a nearby hospital, then airlifted to John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek, according to Lee.Sheriff's deputies set up a perimeter and searched the area, but did not locate any suspects. Detectives are investigating the motives behind the shooting.Anyone with information is asked to call the sheriff's office at (925) 646-2441.
