HERCULES, Calif. -- Police have arrested two teenagers and are looking for a third in connection with an apparent gang-related shooting in Hercules last month that injured two other teens, authorities said Monday.

The suspects, 19-year-old Harold Lemar Scoggins and a 16-year-old boy whose name is not being released, were arrested last week in connection with the Oct. 17 shooting at a house party in the 400 block of Turquoise Avenue, Hercules spokeswoman Michelle Harrington said.

The two victims, an 18-year-old Hercules boy and a 16-year-old Rodeo boy, were transported to area hospitals and released within 48 hours, she said.

Scoggins was arrested in Richmond on Wednesday, and the 16-year-old suspect on Saturday in North Richmond, Harrington said.

Police believe a gang-related disagreement triggered the shooting, though they don't think the victims were specifically targeted.

The Contra Costa County District Attorney's Office had not filed charges against the suspects as of late Monday afternoon, but Harrington said the Police Department will seek four charges against each suspect: assault with a deadly weapon; shooting into an inhabited building; shooting into a vehicle; and participation in a street gang with a violent felony.

Scoggins was on felony probation for grand theft when he was arrested, according to Harrington.

Police are still looking for a third suspect, a 17-year-old boy, and have issued an arrest warrant for him.
