RICHMOND, Calif. -- Three men have been arrested in connection with a shooting Thursday afternoon that seriously injured a teenage girl, a police spokeswoman said. Sgt. Bisa French said several men started firing at another group at about 4:15 p.m. in the 1900 block of Roosevelt Avenue. The 15-year-old victim happened to be riding in a car in the block and was struck by the gunfire, French said. She was taken to a trauma center in critical but stable condition and is expected to survive. French said several homes and vehicles were also struck by the gunfire. There was no other report of injuries. Officers managed to obtain a description of a vehicle associated with the suspects and police later spotted the car, according to French. Three suspects, all men in their late teens or early 20s, were positively identified and arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon. French said the motive of the shooting remains under investigation.
