RENO -- A blazing fast run on a horse named Firebug caused a lead change in the Women’s Professional Rodeo Association barrel race at the Reno Rodeo on Wednesday night.

She made her second run during the performance and took the lead in the overall standings as well as the second round with a 16.95 second run, the fastest of the rodeo so far.

Anderson is now ahead of Nancy Hunter who also had a sub 17-second run in the second round previously. Hunter is second with 34.75 seconds on two runs compared to Anderson’s 34.54.

South Dakota world champions dominated Wednesday night’s saddle bronc riding.
