Spring nearing means time to plan your garden

Just twelve days away from the official start of Spring, we’re showing you how to get started in the garden. Fox11’s Shannon Moore is headed to a local nursery for tips on mastering the prep work needed for spring planting. Experts say now’s the time to get moving, they suggest cleaning out your flower beds and mulching around the base of shrubs. Mulch will help protect against further freezing.  It’s also a good time roto-till or spade a good helping of organic material into your garden soil. This allows time for the bed to settle and the organics to compost before spring planting. And finally, don't forget about hoses and garden tools. Hoses should be drained and brought inside. Take time to clean, sharpen and oil garden tools. Tune in tonight for the full report at 11.
