LAKE TAHOE -  On Monday, December 24, 2012, Heavenly Mountain Resort opened all remaining terrain and will be 100 percent open heading into the holiday season. Heavenly has received 29-42” of snow since Saturday and has opened all 97 trails and 30 lifts, accessing 4,800 acres with top-to-bottom skiing and riding on both the California and Nevada sides. All four base locations, Stagecoach, Boulder, Gondola and California, are open to the public for access to the mountain, with Ski and Ride School operations operating from the Gondola, California Lodge and Boulder Lodge.   “The two recent storms that have come through have brought a lot of light, fluffy snow and have really allowed us to expand our operations going into this holiday season,” said Pete Sonntag, Heavenly’s general manager. “The conditions out there are beyond mid-winter quality, and with all the great energy and activities we’ve got scheduled over the next few weeks, there will be no better place to spend the holiday season.”   For the season, Heavenly has received 172 inches of snowfall. So far in December, Heavenly has received more than nine feet of snow, which is the second-most snowfall for the month of December since 1997-98, trailing only 11 feet recorded in December 2002-03.   Heavenly’s Tubing Hill at the top of the Gondola will now be open with six lanes, and sledding will be available for children under the age of six. The ultimate guy’s hangout, Booyah’s, inside Lakeview Lodge is now open and features 97 microbrews, big-screen TVs and made-to-order gourmet burgers. Daily beginning at 3:30 p.m., the Cal Bar inside the California Lodge will host its own après-ski party, featuring half-price drink specials (beer and well drinks only), as well as a happy-hour food menu. A pool table, shuffleboard table and foosball table are all new additions to the Cal Bar.   Holiday Fun at Heavenly Celebrate the 13 days of Christmas at Heavenly Holidays 2012, a two-week festival for the whole family at the Heavenly Village featuring professional ice skating shows, ice sculptors, carolers, local artists and a 16-foot snow globe where kids can get their photos taken with Santa. It all started on December 19, 2012, and culminates December 31 with A Heavenly New Year’s Celebration including ice sculptors, live music, fire dancers and a 9:00 p.m. ball drop and fireworks show.
