The 20 categories encompass bikes from every angle of the bike-style spectrum from Best Vintage Road Bike to Best Art Bike.

This is a family friendly event and kids are encouraged to enter their bikes to win.

Then it's on to Reno Bike Project’s 3rd Annual Hot August Bikes Group Ride.

Reno Bike Project has partnered with the Reno Police Department to organize the Hot August Bikes Group Ride on Friday, Aug. 12. Reno Bike Project employees and the police will escort cyclists on an hour-long tour through downtown Reno.

This family friendly ride begins at the Reno Bike Project, 541 E. 4th Street, at 5:30 pm and will finish at Newlands Park with a free ice cream social at 7:00 pm.

The Reno Bike Project is a non-profit community bicycle shop and advocacy group committed to creating a nationally recognized, cycling-friendly community in the Truckee Meadows. Since 2006, the bike project has worked through advocacy, education and cooperation to increase enthusiasm about bicycling as a positive lifestyle and transportation alternative.

The organization is built around the belief that the bicycle is the world’s greatest, most utilized mode of transportation and that every individual, regardless of age, gender, race, or class has a right to afford, maintain, and enjoy one.
