CARSON CITY -- Monday morning a bank in Carson City was robbed and police are still looking for the suspect.

Police say earlier this morning, at around 9, the Wells Fargo Bank at the corner of Stewart and Musser Streets in downtown Carson City was robbed. Witnesses told officers the man fled the bank on foot to the east of the area.  Although Sheriff’s Deputies were on the scene of the robbery within 1 minute, they were unable to locate the suspect.  There were no injuries reported and the suspect did not display a weapon.

The suspect is described as a white male approximately 30 years old, standing 5 foot six inches in height, weighing 150 pounds with a medium build. He was seen wearing a dark-colored beanie knitted-style cap on his head, and a black hoodie with blue jean pants and dark-colored shoes.

The robbery is being investigated jointly with the FBI.

A similar robbery took place last Monday in north Carson City when a US Bank was robbed. However in that robbery the suspect, Thomas E. Baye, was arrested. Police are investigating if there's a connection between both cases.

Anyone with information concerning this incident or suspected identity of the man picture is encouraged to contact the Carson City Sheriff’s Office at 887-2500 or the communication center at 887-2012.
