Domestic dispute between couple leads to arson arrest

 

RENO -- A man has been arrested and charged with domestic violence in a case that escalated and lead to arson yesterday morning.

Early yesterday morning at around 1:15, the Reno Fire Department along with Reno Police Officers responded to the 4100 Block of Edrie Dr. in Reno on a report of a structure fire.  Reno Fire Department arrived on scene, and located a flat bed trailer that was fully engulfed in the driveway of a residence.  They were able to quickly extinguish the fire which had started to spread to an occupied dwelling.

Further investigation revealed that the fire was likely a case of arson, and the Reno Fire Department Arson Investigator was summoned to the scene.  Investigators learned that the fire was the result of a domestic relationship between one of the residents and her ex-boyfriend.

This morning the RPD and RFD were able to apprehend the suspect without any incident in the 3000 block of Lakeside Dr.  The suspect, identified as 19-year-old Jesse Bailey of Reno, is currently in custody at the Washoe County Detention Facility and is being held on a $25,000.00 Bail.
