Drive-by shooting leaves one man injured

SPARKS -- Police are investigating a shooting that occurred earlier this morning in Sparks that left one man injured.

This morning at around 12:30, the Sparks Police Department received a call of a shooting that had just occurred, in the 10 block of E O Street.  Further information received was that a male subject was shot in the arm.

Upon arriving at the scene, police learned that there were two male residents, of an undisclosed residence on E O street, standing on the sidewalk, in front of their house.  A suspicious vehicle was driving very slowly past the the residence.  The two males were looking at the vehicle at which time a Hispanic male, that was sitting in the back, asked them if they had a problem.  The male residents said that this was their house and asked them what they were doing.  The Hispanic male then pointed a semi-automatic handgun out of the window.  He fired between three to four rounds, striking one of the residents in the arm.  The vehicle then drove away.

There were no other persons shot during the incident.  REMSA transported the victim to a local hospital where he was treated for a non-life threatening wound to the arm.  Officers searched the area for the suspect vehicle with negative results.  The description of the vehicle and the occupants are as follows:

White small four door sedan with a spoiler and tinted windows.

Driver:  Black male adult (no further)

Front passenger:  Female(no further)

Right rear passenger:  Hispanic male adult wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt (shooter).

There is no further information to report at this time.  The investigation into this shooting is ongoing.  if anyone has further information regarding this case they are encouraged to contact the Sparks Police Department or Secret Witness.
