SPARKS -- A fugitive, on the run after escaping Nevada Dept of Corrections prison, has been apprehended in Sparks thanks to the help of several law enforcement agencies.

This morning at around 11:30, detectives from the SPD Crime Suppression Unit and RPD Street Enforcement Team were asked to assist the Investigators from the State of Nevada Inspector General's Office in an attempt to locate a wanted fugitive/Nevada Dept of Corrections (NDOC) escapee, Timothy Fonseca.

Detectives received information that Fonseca was still in the Reno/Sparks area and was possibly at the Rivers Edge RV Park on S. Rock Blvd. Detectives were able to determine which trailer Fonseca was in. A short time later Detectives surrounded the trailer. After calling into the trailer for a short period of time using a PA system, Fonseca exited the trailer and was taken into custody without incident.

Fonseca was turned over to the NDOC Investigators and returned to the Nevada State Prison System. No further information is available at this time.
