Police seek suspect in possible gang-related shooting

SPARKS-- One man was injured and police are looking for the suspects in what could be a gang-related shooting.

Saturday morning at around 1, Sparks Police officers responded to the area of 1100 15th St on a report of shots fired.

When officer arrived, they were met by the victim. The victim is a 28 year old Reno resident. According to the victim, he and three friends were walking out of the apartment complex when they were passed by a light colored two-door passenger car. The occupants of the car reportedly yelled something out of the window of the car. The suspect car then drove a short distance away, turned around, and came back.

The victim approached the car, and a conversation of some sort ensued between he and the driver of the vehicle. At some point, the driver produced a handgun and fired one round at the victim, striking him in the hand. The victim was transported to Renown Medical Center where he was treated for non-life threatening injuries.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic male, approximately 18-24 years old. There was a passenger in the vehicle and she was described as a Hispanic female, approximately 18-20 years old. The suspect vehicle is described as a light-colored, two-door passenger car, possibly a Chevy Cavalier or similar model.

There is a possibility of gang-related involvement in this case. The investigation is ongoing.
