Rash of burglaries being seen near local health clubs

RENO -- The Reno Police Department has seen a rash of vehicle burglaries occurring in the parking lots of local area health clubs, and we would like assistance in identifying the potential suspects.

The burglaries started in August of this year, and since then, we have seen at total of 30 or more. The burglaries usually occur during daytime hours, and usually target the parking lots of health clubs. It appears the suspects watch the parking lots, and after observing a patron exit their vehicle and enter the club, they smash out the window and grab purses or other valuables.

The suspects immediately use the stolen cash or credit cards, prior to the victim even knowing they have a loss.

The targeted health clubs are throughout the city, and have included 24 Hr Fitness, Fitness Connection, Lakeridge Tennis Club, and the parking lot of High Sierra Lanes.

During the investigation, police have obtained several photographs of unidentified suspects using the victim's credit cards at local businesses, and we would like assistance in identifying those responsible.

It is unknown at this time if these suspects are responsible for the burglaries, but there is reason to believe they are involved in using the stolen items.
