Repeat offender sentenced to 2 to 13 years

52-year-old Randall Forcier was sentenced to 59-160 months

 

RENO -- Yesterday morning, 52-year-old Randall Forcier, a target of the Northern Nevada Repeat Offender Program was sentenced 59-160 months in the Nevada State Prison by the Honorable Steven Elliot. The state was represented by Deputy District Attorney Patricia Halstead.

Forcier has a criminal history spanning from 1985 and includes 4 prior non-drug related felony convictions.

Forcier pled guilty to a burglary charge and grand larceny charge for which he was sentenced; in exchange several other charges were dropped.  The burglary charge occurred on October 23, 2012 when he had taken stolen property, related to a theft in Fernley, into Schnitzer Steel and obtained US Currency for the property.  The property was recovered and returned to the owner.

The grand larceny charge occurred on November 4, 2012 in the Union Pacific Rail Yards in Sparks.  He was arrested adjacent to the rail yards with stolen property from the yard and tools commonly used in burglaries. 

For the burglary charge he received 35-100 months in the Nevada State Prison and restitution in the amount of $214.90.  For the grand larceny charge he received 24-60 months in the Nevada State Prison and restitution in the amount of $12,341.87.

These sentences were to run consecutively, he was further ordered restitution on a Sparks Case from 2008 in which he was to pay $24,890, to date he has only paid $110.00 of that amount.

The Northern Nevada Repeat Offender Program is a regional unit comprised of Detectives from the Reno and Sparks Police Departments.
