Sheriff's detectives investigate a suspicious death in the Cold Springs area

 

The Washoe County Sheriff's Office Special Operations and Investigations Division is currently conducting a criminal investigation into the suspicious death of a white male adult that occurred on Wednesday, June 27 at around 5:12 p.m. in the 17300 block of Bear Lake Drive in the Cold Springs area. 

As part of this investigation, a male canine has been quarantined in a safe and healthy environment in accordance with the Washoe County Sheriff's Office policies and procedures. 

Due to this being an ongoing criminal investigation, no further details have been released. The Washoe County Medical Examiner's Office is currently in the process of conducting a formal identification and next of kin notification.

The cause of death will be determined by the Medical Examiner's Office as well.

Additional information will be released as the investigation unfolds.
