Shots fired in fight outside JA Nugget

SPARKS -- Police arrested a man after he allegedly shot at another man during a fight near John Ascuaga's Nugget.

 

Saturday night at around 10:40 p.m., Sparks Police responded to a report of shots fired inside the parking structure which is attached to John Ascuaga's Nugget, 1100 Nugget Avenue.

 

When officers arrived, they located several expended shell casings and bullet fragments. Several witnesses were on scene, but none of the parties directly involved in the incident were. Officers were able to learn that there had been two separate groups of people involved. One group of two people had been in a vehicle, and another group of four people were walking through the garage when a verbal disturbance began between the two groups. A physical fight ensued when one of the persons on foot struck one person who was in the vehicle.

 

One member of the group that was on foot then removed a handgun from his waistband and aimed it at the people in the truck, and eventually discharged several rounds. No one was injured by the shots that were fired.

 

About an hour an a half later, officers were still reviewing video tape and speaking with witnesses when a witness saw a vehicle containing several of the group that was on foot enter into the valet area. The witness alerted the officer they were speaking with,and the subjects were detained, and a handgun was recovered.

 

After an interview was conducted, officers arrested Tony Llamas, a 24 year-old Sparks resident. He was charged with aiming a firearm at a human being, carrying a concealed weapon, and contributing to the delinquency of minors.
