RENO -- A young man's death from a gun shot is being investigated by police.

On July 7, 2012 at about 10:30pm RPD officers responded to an apartment in the 2000 Block of Centennial Way on the report of a shooting.  Officers arrived on scene along with emergency medical services and located one victim in one of the apartments.

The shooting is believed to have taken place somewhere in the area, but not in the apartment.  It was learned the victim left and apartment and returned a few minutes later and told the occupant he had been shot, and then collapsed.    

The victim, a 17yr old juvenile and Reno Resident, was transported to the hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.    

Detectives are looking for witnesses to the crime or anyone with information that may assist with the investigation.
