Two injured in domestic dispute

SPARKS -- It was a bloody scene at a home in Sparks on Sunday night after a son and his mom's boyfriend's dispute turned into a fight.

Last night at around 7:20, Sparks Police Officers responded to a domestic disturbance call. While officers were en route, a second call was received indicating that the disturbance had escalated. When officers arrived, they found an adult female resident of the home in the backyard with her son, who is 16 years old. Officers learned that the juvenile had been injured in a fight with his mother's boyfriend. The juvenile had a large amount of blood on him and his clothing.

Officers were given information that there was another male in the house who was also injured. This male was later identified as the mother's boyfriend.

Officers entered the house and located the adult male in a bathroom. He was bleeding heavily. REMSA and Sparks Fire personnel responded and gave treatment. Both the adult and juvenile were transported to Renown Medical Center for treatment of their injuries, which are not believed to be life-threatening. The adult male did have possible stab wounds, and the juvenile's injuries have not yet been determined.

At this time, the investigation shows that there was a physical fight between the adult and juvenile, though what triggered the incident is not yet known.

No arrests have been made at this time and the case is still being investigated.

Anyone who may have information about this incident is asked to contact Sparks Police Detectives at 353-2225 or Secret Witness at 322-4900.
