Stephanie Avalose has entered an art contest in hopes of collecting funds for the Children's Miracle Network.

RENO -- A local girl is hoping her talents will help local kids by bringing in some cash to Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals by way of an art contest.

Stephanie Avalos, 14, of Sparks, Nev. has wiped tears from her eyes many times. But she never imagined she would ever look down and see her own artwork printed on the box of facial tissues she held in her hands. That thought will be much closer to reality with additional votes on Facebook.

While being treated at Renown Children’s Hospital, Avalos learned of an art competition that could possibly bring $15,000 to the Reno Hospital. Hosted by White Cloud Facial Tissues, benefiting Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, the art promotion is designed to print the winning patient’s art on special-edition boxes to be sold at retail stories, including Walmart, nation-wide.

Avalos’ art was selected as one of 10 finalists in the competition. Currently Avalos is in second place.

The patient with the most Facebook votes wins. Votes can be cast every 24 hours through Jan. 31.  Click here to cast your vote: https://www.facebook.com/mywhitecloud/app_436325016429465
