First Lady to speak at UNR

  • comment(1)

This Wednesday, and on the same day President Obama will debate Mitt Romney for the first time, the first lady Michelle Obama will be in Reno to talk to supporters and help get Obama re-elected.

Nevada, being one of the key battleground states that will help decide whether her husband holds onto the White House, has been host to Obama several times during the past two years. This time the First Lady will travel alone  to Nevada, where she will speak to grassroots supporters in Reno.

The First Lady will speak about what’s at stake in this election for Nevadans and encourage them to help organize their communities between now and November. Mrs. Obama will also promote voter registration and voting – including early vote which starts on October 20 in Nevada – through GottaVote.com. And, as part of the campaign’s It Takes One effort, the First Lady will ask every supporter to help grow Obama for America’s national grassroots network.

The First Lady’s event is free and open to the public. Tickets are required due to limited space, and will be available to the public starting on a first-come, first-served basis at the pick-up locations below.

The event will take place in the Quad of  UNR campus, 1664 North Virginia Street at 8:15 a.m.

Tickets are available on a first-come, first-served basis at the following locations, and will continue if tickets are still available on Monday, October 1, and Tuesday, October 2, at 10:00 AM PDT.
