Reality TV series launching in Reno

RENO -- There's a new movement approaching the local business community and soon everyone will know what SoSu is with a launch of a reality TV series.

Mark & Dana Hatjakes of SoSu.TV are starting production on a local television series in northern Nevada this fall. Called “Starting Over, Starting Up,” the television series will
pair small business owners with experienced mentors and will document the journey to success.

Two out of three new jobs come from our small businesses, demonstrating how important their success is to our community. “We aim to inspire entrepreneurship, to ignite success through mentorship,
and to unite small businesses to truly make a difference in our community,” said Dana Hatjakes, Founder & President of SoSu.TV.

Northern Nevada has many resources available to small businesses and entrepreneurs. SoSu’s goal is to connect the two. “What makes SoSu important in our current environment is they are using
video, technology and media to grow our small business community, which is vital to the economic growth of our city,” said Dave Archer, Executive Director, NCET.

SoSu TV has forged relationships with many of the area’s entrepreneur and economic development groups, including EDAWN, EO, Under30CEO, Project Solution, and the Reno Rebuild Project, to name a few.

The television series will track the businesses as they receive advice from experienced local mentors, who are donating their time and knowledge to help foster success. SoSu.TV Mentors include:
Ed Gurowitz, PHD (Integrated Business Solutions), Cheri Hill (Sage International), Alice Heiman (Alice Heiman, LLC.), Tom Taormina (Taormina Group, Inc) Thomas Powell (Resolute Capital Partners), Ky Good (VizConnect), and more talented local thought leaders.

Show production will start with “SoSu Saturdays,” where SoSu crews will be interviewing potential businesses, for free, during the last Saturday of each month. “Authentic TV is really about the personalities
involved.

The characters, how their lives are shaped by their business’ success, and how the viewers lives are touched by their journey, said Mark Hatjakes, VP of Broadcast Creative. Businesses
can sign up for a SoSu Saturday interview at facebook.com/SoSuTV.

Our community has embraced SoSu TV. “SoSu’s ability to provide mentorship is a very valuable service that I wish I was able to use when I first opened my business,” said Michael Connelly, Reno
Rebuild Project. Organizations as well as businesses are taking notice. Chris Holloman of Katipo Creative says, “What a perfect combination of talent, expertise, opportinity and hope.”

With final negotiations underway with local broadcasters, “Starting Over, Starting Up,” will premiere just after the start of the new year. To learn more about how you can help or participate, please visit
