Reno to experience an additional boost in IQ

RENO -- Reno will welcome a group of 'Smarty Pants' this week as 2000 members of a High IQ organization will hold their annual gathering.

American Mensa is an organization for anyone who scores in the top two percent of the general population on an accepted, standardized intelligence test. Starting today and going through Sunday, members of American Mensa will gather to explore a variety of topics, meet and reconnect with other members, and experience all that Reno has to offer.  In addition, the public will be welcome to take the Mensa Test to qualify for membership. This year’s theme is “The End of Time”

Leading names in the field of gaming will discuss the impact this medium is having on society. Speakers include game developer, Warren Spector of Disney Interactive and Developmental psychologist, Dr. Douglas Gentile.

Also, Mensa Member and Co-star of “The Amazing Spider-Man”, Leif Gantvoort will talk about his work in the entertainment industry.

This year's event will be held at the Silver Legacy Resort Casino on 407 N. Virginia Street.
