RENO -- With the introduction of a new case management system, the Reno and Sparks Justice Courts can now offer a variety of online services for the convenience of Washoe County residents. The system, which underwent a rigorous and detailed process of selection, implementation, and data conversion, was rolled out in early March of 2012.

The new system is a robust application that will enable the courts to introduce online capabilities, such as electronic filings and payments, as well as automate many time-consuming, labor-intensive business processes. Once the core system is stabilized, the application will be distributed to Incline Village and Wadsworth Justice Courts for their use. The four courts will share a single database, which will provide a more comprehensive view of individuals’ judicial activities throughout the county.

No tax dollars were used to fund the Odyssey system or its enhancements. The new case management system was funded entirely by Reno Justice Court’s administrative assessments, which are service fees charged to court users. The project will be completed under its established budget.
