Nevada gaming revenues increase 2.8 percent in 2011; Strip figures up 5.1 percent

Nevada casinos collected $10.7 billion in gaming revenues in 2011, an increase of 2.8 percent over 2010 and the second straight annual jump.

Casinos on the Strip collected $6.068 billion in gaming revenues in 2011, an increase of 5.1 percent over 2010.

The Gaming Control Board released the year-end and December gaming revenue figures this morning.

For the state, the increase was the largest single year hike since 2007. In 2010, gaming revenues grew 0.1 percent after two straight annual declines during the recession

Clark County as a whole saw gaming revenues increase 3.5 percent in 2011. Laughlin, with a decrease of 3.7 percent, was the only reporting area in the county with an annual decline. Downtown casinos saw gaming revenues grow just less than 1 percent in 2011.
