Alcohol a factor in vehicle vs. pedestrian accident

RENO -- A man is recovering from injuries sustained after being struck by a vehicle while he was attempting to cross the street.

 

The 41-year-old male was walking across 4th Street approximately 10’ west of the Ralston Street crosswalk. A  40-year-old driver was traveling westbound on 4th Street and entered the intersection with a green light. The vehicle struck the pedestrian just as the man crossed into the westbound lanes.

The pedestrian had been drinking and was transported to Renown Medical Center where he was treated for non life threatening injuries.

The pedestrian was cited for Jaywalking. The driver was cited for no Driver’s license

The investigation is ongoing.
