SPARKS -- A Sparks man is dead after the vehicle he was driving rolled over on Vista blvd on Tuesday.

Yesterday evening at around 5:10pm, Sparks Police responded to a rollover accident on Vista Boulevard, just south of the Golden Eagle Sports Complex.  Officers arrived and found the driver in the middle of the street and unresponsive.  EMS personnel arrived and pronounced the driver dead at the scene.

The investigation revealed the driver was northbound on Vista in his Toyota Tacoma pickup at a high rate of speed according to several witnesses.  As he approached a slight curve in the road by the sports complex, he drifted into the center median where he struck a large brick decorative pillar.  The pickup then began to roll, and the driver was ejected.

No other vehicles were involved, and he was the sole occupant of the vehicle.  There was no evidence on scene suggesting alcohol was involved, and toxicology reports are pending.

The driver has been identified as Curt Jordan, a 44 year-old Sparks resident.
