RENO -- The deceased driver in last week's vehicle collision on Sutro street has been identified as 48 year old Reno resident Eugene Rumpke. 

On January 22, 2013 at around 2:45 pm, the Reno Police Department responded to Sutro and Paintbrush on a report of head on crash involving two vehicles.  It appears that one of the vehicles was traveling north bound on Sutro in the north bound travel lanes. That north bound vehicle veered into the south bound travel lanes and was struck by a vehicle traveling south on Sutro.

Three of the four occupants of the south bound vehicle were transported to a local hospital with non life threatening injuries.  The driver of the north bound vehicle was pronounced deceased at the scene.

At this time it is unknown if alcohol or a prior medical condition is the cause of the accident.
