Rollover accident near Moana ln causes highway lane closure

RENO -- Police say a freeway accident that caused lane closures near Moana lane could be attributed to alcohol.

Early this morning at around 4, Nevada Highway Patrol was dispatched to a rollover accident blocking the #2 and #3 southbound travel lanes of IR580 at the Moana exit.  The preliminary investigation indicates that a 1995 Ford utility vehicle was traveling southbound on IR580 and for an unknown reason the driver steered the vehicle into the temporary attenuator to the Moana off ramp and overturned.

The driver 29-year-old Marcelino Fregososedano out of CA was extricated from the vehicle and transported to Renown for minor injuries.

The #2 and #3 travel lanes of IR580 at Moana were closed for approximately 40 minutes, and the off ramp closed from approximately 4:03 a.m. to 7:00 a.m. Until the off ramp is open please use either Villanova or South Virginia.

Alcohol is believed to be a factor in the accident.

Upon the drivers release from the hospital he was placed under arrest for driving under the influence of alcohol.
